Art of Facial Rejuvenation is excited to announce the addition of BELKYRA (Kybella) to our growing list of non-surgical services. BELKYRA, an FDA approved procedure, is revolutionary because it sculpts and reduces the fat content underneath the chin without the need to resort to older, more invasive procedures like liposuction. BELKYRA (Kybella) is specifically used for the reduction and elimination of the double chin, or excess fat, and most conveniently, it can be performed by our medical professionals right within our clinic in a matter of 30 minutes or less.
To learn more about BELKYRA and its suitability for you, we will discuss the most commonly asked questions about this procedure.
How does BELKYRA work?
BELKYRA works by breaking down the molecules of the fat content in the chin and absorbs the waste into the body. BELKYRA works best after a series of sessions, thus providing you and your body time to slowly adjust to a slimmer and firmer neck. The greatest perk of such a procedure is that you can attain permanent fat reduction results; once the fat is eliminated, it is permanently secreted out of the body.
What is BELKYRA derived from?
BELKYRA contains natural properties found in the body known as deoxycholic acid. Once injected, this chemical invades and breaks the barriers of the fat cell membranes, and thus, releases the contents into the bloodstream, which is then processed out as waste matter.
What will occur in a typical BELKYRA session?
Upon an initial consultation with one of our medical professionals and a thorough discussion of your eligibility and treatment plan, our medical doctor will apply a local anesthetic to the area under the chin receiving injections. After 15 minutes, the medical professional will administer the injections into specific points of the chin. This procedure takes approximately 30 minutes and will not require any recovery time. In fact, many of our patients finish their procedure and resume to their daily routines.
What are some of the side effects of BELKYRA?
Due to the injectable nature of BELKYRA, some patients may experience redness, swelling, bruising and general discomfort to the area post-injection. The area may be numb for a few hours post – procedure, and patients are encouraged to take over the counter pain killers to minimize any discomfort. Usually however, given the safe and non-surgical nature of BELKYRA, the side effects are minimal.
Can BELKYRA be used on other parts of the body?
No, we only use BELKYRA for the purpose of reducing the fat deposits under the chin and to eliminate the appearance of sagging double chins. At the Art of Facial Rejuvenation, we provide injection Lipolysis to melt off excess fat in other parts of the body, as well as non-surgical laser treatments. All of our services can be discussed with our medical professional upon the initial consultation.
How quickly will results of BELKYRA show?
BELKYRA is more progressive, and in a series of 2-4 sessions, patients will see impressive results. The sessions are usually spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to allow the body to decompose and process the fat out of the body.
Who is eligible for BELKYRA?
Any individual over the age of 18 and in good health is eligible for BELKYRA.
