At the Art of Facial Rejuvenation we are dedicated to preserving and maintaining a balanced and rejuvenated appearance of all our patients. Confidence is a major driving force with our patients, and a new procedure that we have introduced to our clinic addresses this motivation. Some women and men – whether it is a product of age, genetics, or environmental factors – begin to lose or have uneven and unfilled eyebrows. There can be many ways to circumvent such a problem, and the latest is microblading which creates the impression of natural eyebrows. We will discuss some of the most commonly asked questions below.
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a new procedure that reinvents the way that we think about our brows. Rather than opting for a temporary or harsh tattooing procedure, this procedure is semi-permanent. Microblading imitates the shape and look of natural brow hairs through a stoking effect created by our highly experienced technician.
How long do the results last?
The results of Microblading typically last for 12 to 19 months. Other factors can contribute to the lasting rate, and it can depend on skin type and some environmental factors as excessive exposure to the outdoors. It is for this reason that we typically recommend a touch up every year to maintain the results.
Will the procedure be painful?
The experience of pain factors for individuals differently; however, most of our patients report minimal to no pain as a numbing cream will be applied to the area. The experience is very similar to attaining a tattoo or having a typical waxing session.
What will the microblading session entail?
Our highly practiced technician will first consult with you and give you the details of the procedure and what you should expect to look like post procedure. The technician will show you the design and expected shape of the eyebrow to ensure maximum satisfaction. This will include a discussion and showcase of the eyebrow colour. Followed by consent, a numbing cream will be applied to the area prior to the blading. The technician will then begin the blading procedure, which can take up to 1 hour in total, creating precise impressions of brows.
What should I expect post procedure?
Our technicians recommend that you keep the area of the brows clean and away from water for up to 24 hours. Exposure to sunlight should also be limited in that time. However, most can go back to their busy schedule without any problem or expectation of a recovery period. It can take up to a week for your brows to fully recovery and the pigment of the brows to set into the skin. In some cases, we can perform touch up on the area after one month.
