Let’s face it; with the increasingly busy lives that we live, taking time off to recover from a surgical procedure is both inconvenient and difficult to commit. At the Art of Facial Rejuvenation, we understand this difficulty, and we have dedicated our practice to providing competitive and advanced non-surgical procedures to give our patients the convenience and confidence that they deserve.
As the skin loses its elasticity through age, the skin begins to sag. While surgical procedures of lifting the face are effective, it comes with the downside of complications resulting from surgery. In fact, many are not good candidates for surgery due to other medical complications. For such individuals, our thread lifting procedure is a great alternative.
Thread lifting involves the procedure of embedding thin threads with spines into the middle layer of the skin. Once inserted, the spines attach to the tissues of the surrounding area, and our medical professional pull the thread with the skin attached and detach the thread. In addition to being convenient and non-surgical, the presence of a foreign thread in the skin produces an array of defense, collagen producing properties that heal the surrounding area; thus over time, the skin begins to thicken itself and create a much more rejuvenated appearance – in addition to the lifting.
What areas of the face can threadlifting lift?
The threads can be inserted along the area of the cheek. Depending on the elasticity of the skin, multiple threads may be used to maximize the lifting. This lifting procedure in turn lifts the entire side of the face, helping reduce the appearance of a sagging chin, laugh lines, and create a more contoured cheek.
How long is the threadlifting procedure?
The procedure takes around 30 minutes to complete. Our medical professional will first apply a numbing cream to the area of the skin that the thread will enter. Afterwards, the threads are inserted into the middle layer with a manual technique. Once positioned and attached to the inner layer, our medical professional will pull the thread and clip it off.
What are the post-procedural side effects?
There is usually minimal or no bruising after the treatment. However, there may be a mild sensation and discomfort to the face 24 to 48 hours later. It is recommended that patients try not to touch the face or place excess amount of pressure to the area.
Who are good candidates for threadlifting?
Individuals over the age of 40 who desire to have a more lifted appearance without resorting to surgical or injectable procedures, with realistic expectations, are good candidates for this procedure.
